Glam Slam Ukulele Workshop
An ensemble event for players of all ages and levels Melbourne ukulele trio The Thin White Ukes are nine years deep in the world of David Bowie. Their 90-minute “Glam Slam” workshop is renowned for catering to players of all levels of proficiency, from two-fingered strummers to rapid-fire fret shredders, culminating in a riotous all-in performances of a classic BOWIE tune in full glam rock’n'roll formation. Paul Lee is a Kāpiti-based singer/songwriter and ukulele ninja with a penchant for observational story-telling and affectionate good humour. Since relocating to Paekākāriki, Paul’s songwriting has been drawing on the natural environment for inspiration.

Harmonica for absolute beginners
I started my ukulele journey 21 years ago and have enjoyed everything about it including being co-organiser of the Lauder Ukulele Festival for 7 years. We have a saying in our family that “we are green and growing not ripe and rotting” so with the help of an harmonica booklet I decided to teach myself how to play that. Come and learn a new skill – be green and growing!

Vocal workshop
Anna van Riel is a NZ indie/folk musician. She is based in Lake Hawea, New Zealand. Anna is currently touring her one-woman environmental musical Waste Free Wanda.

Sam Girling
A Journey into Percussion Ensemble Playing Sam began his musical journey studying percussion and timpani at Trinity College of Music, London, and went on to earn his Masters degree from Royal Holloway. After four years as a freelance musician and teacher in the UK, he relocated to New Zealand in early 2014 to pursue a PhD at the University of Auckland.

Bronwyn has been working as a Secondary School Music Teacher for over 20 years. She is an award winning Musical Director and is an experienced performer, adjudicator and arranger of music in contemporary and classical styles.

Plugged-in Classic Rock for Ukulele
Paul plays many genres of music, but is known far and wide as a legendary blues uke player. He builds and sets up extraordinary ukes with special voices to match special songs, and since 2011 he has played in festivals and given workshops in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Italy and Spain. His performances and teaching ability has been a gift to over 6,000 ukulele students, with many learning style.
